HSLS is in the process of collaborating with a variety of safety professionals and organizations across all industries to develop a "first of its kind" interactive safety video game training and aptitude measurement tool. The use of video games for educating and modifying behavior are know as "serious games". Such games are currently being used, for instance, to allow retail staff to be trained by interacting with virtual irate customers and deal with store emergencies. Through a robust video game you can allow a worker to enter a virtual construction site where hazards must be identified and mitigated--and do it safely while measuring performance and behavior.
